SAT Question of the Day Explained – March 3, 2014 – Sentence Completion

Today’s SAT question of the day is an easy sentence completion about anger management. The first half of the sentence tells us that we will be refuting the idea that expressing anger is a way to reduce it.

In refutation, the second half of the sentence says that doing something with anger can actually increase its…something.

We know that the first blank has to be something like “expressing” since that’s what this sentence is about. The second blank, then, has to be the opposite outcome of “reducing” – something that results in more anger.

In this case, choice D (“venting” and “intensity”) works perfectly.
