SAT Question of the Day – February 17, 2014 – Identifying Sentence Errors

Thurgood Marshall, 1967

Today’s SAT question of the day is an identifying sentence errors question with a classic error.

According to this sentence, Thurgood Marshall is known for his quest to end racial discrimination, his opposition to the death penalty, and he supported free speech and civil liberties.

My students should have spotted that error immediately: the things in our list are not in the same form!

  1. his quest
  2. his opposition
  3. he supported X

The last one needs to be his support in order to match the first two elements of our list.

Remember – whenever we talk about groups of things, they all have to be in the same form!
